Hi Again,
I recorded a program using the Panasonic E30.
When recording a second program to the same disc, there was some sort of glitch. The first program will now play back on the E30 (but not in a playback-only machine).
Since that glitch, it is impossible to finalise the disc in the recorder.
Question is...is it now possible to recover the contents of the disc in any way.
My pc will not recognise the disc. If it did, I could then digitally transfer it to my hard-drive.
Help !!!!!!!

Was just talking about data recovery in another thread!
Have you tried Isobuster on your PC, might be able to read the disc and recover the data.
Another alternative program I just found is CDRoller at www.cdroller.com."Just another sheep boy, duck call, swan
song, idiot son of donkey kong - Julian Cope" -
Works brilliantly !
Just for anyone else who has the same problem of disc recovery..
1. Use ISO BUSTER to read out the disc, the files created are .tda files.
2. Use Womble MPEG Video Wizard to read in the files and covert them to mpg files.
3. Use TMPGe (say) to read in the mpg files and burn to a new disc.
Works perfectly !!!!
Many thanks !!! -
I have a JVC DR-M10 which I'm encountering this problem of unrecognised disk fairly regularly.
I'm using different brands of DVD-RW's so I don't think the disks are the problem, but every so often I'll record something that won't play on my other DVD player (also JVC) and can't be read by my PC.
Isobuster works like a charm to recover the data, so thanks ever so much for the advice SafeSurfer, but has anyone any idea why this should be happening in the first place?
I've tried formatting the disks in both VR and Video modes, but it happens whichever format I use. (And YES, I am finalising the disks before trying to read/play them elsewhere!)
Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
