Web Cam Microphone no sound

Hi
I bought a web cam for my laptop with a built in microphone to use on MSN messenger
All is working fine expect the microphone

I have checked all configurations under "Sound, Speech and Audio Devices" and followed all the instructions in the manual

When i log onto messenger and invite the other person into an audio conversation it automatically connects to their mic when they accept

I have tried everything - uninstalling etc but still no luck. I dont think the mic is broken as when it finished installing it allowed me to test the volume etc and all seemed fine then

your help would be much appreciated !!!!

You may want to check your mixer settings (double-click on the speaker icon in the system tray by the clock).
