  1. I am trying to create a PAL DVD from the NTSC tape. I captured the footage using SCLive, edited in PPRO and exported as NTSC avi file. I then followed this tutorial to convert the footage to PAL.

    http://www.toolfarm.com/tutorials/ntscPAL.html

Once I completed the conversion to PAL. I openned new PAL project in the Adobe Encore, uploaded the file created the menu and burned it with NO region code.

Here is the tricky part. I am not sure if this is a true PAL.

    I have two DVD players:
    Daewoo DVDP480 (Multi system)
    JVC XV-NP1 (Region 1)

Now I expected to Daewoo player to play the DVD, because it is multi system, but the DVD also played in JVC, which is region 1.

I need to send the DVD to Europe and want to mak sure that it will work.

Is there a way to verify that?

    Thanks

Open the DVD in DVDDecrypter....IFO mode if I'm not mistaken. That will tell you exactly whether it is PAL or NTSC.
Also Region coding and PAL/NTSC really have nothing to do with each other.
    Yep....IFO mode - Stream Processing

Also again...European equipment can easily play NTSC discs....it is NOT the case the other way around. Converting from NTSC to PAL is usually a waste of time.

Why even convert to PAL?Most EU DVD players can play NTSC (converter is included) and most modern TVs can show NTSC material.

And (as hech54) Region Code has nothing to do with NTSC/PAL.

  4. Thanks,

    One more question.

Does DVD players sold in Israel follow the EU standards.
