Hello this is my first post here, I apologize if there is an answer, I looked around and couldnt find any.
I downloaded a movie file off the internet and made a back up of it on dvd using WIN AVI video converter. I converted the file from an AVI format to DVD format. After complete I burnt it using Nero. When I play it in my dvd player the picture goes crazy....its like I need to adjust the tracking on the dvd player or tv. The picture jumps constantly and I cannot control it.
Has anyone had this problem in the past? Any help would be great.
Thank you.
Ray

Downloaded movies are not the best source to begin with. You have no control over the quality, they often have corrupted frames and other problems. These may no be apparent on playback, as the error checking often more lax that when encoding.
What format did you encode to during conversion. Playing PAL on NTSC only kit (or NTSC on PAL) can produce problems like this.
Finally, if this was a commercially available film, go and buy it instead.Read my blog here.

Hi there thank you for your reply, I downloaded a few drum workshops and live studio stuff that isnt available on dvd.
I am not sure about those formats you mentioned.
I started with an AVI and opened up WIN AVI converter within that program I converted it to dvd format.
Thats as clear and as much as I can explain.
When I watch the file as an AVI on my hard drive it is clear and perfect, so there must be a setting or something I am missing within the WIN AVI program??
Any other takers on this topic,
thank you
