I actually only use seagate and WD, but was thinking of trying. Lordsmurf should I try or are they risky?

  5. I have 4 Maxtor drives in my house right now. Had some of them running for 2-3+ years and never had problem with them. Yes I've had to reformat windows a few times but that's normal. Maxtor has an outstanding RMA return policy. Although I've never used it. I know several people that send back the "bad" one and get a new within a few days

Just like "budz" said get the one fits your price.

I am actually just looking for a HHD to put into an external case to store my dvd in ISO form. The only time it will be used it to add new ISO's or burn a previously backed up movie. So would Maxtor be fine if it is hardly going to get used?

Read old posts on this forum. If you want a good hard drive, buy a Western Digital or Seagate drive.

Maxtor is the "CMC" or "PRINCO" of the hard drive world.
