Hello VCDhelp world please help me fix my problem im having...
Ok i downloaded a movie and i encode it to a Mpeg1 file now i need to know how to burn it...i use nero...but it tells me the file is to big to burn...how do i compress it smaller so it can fit on a 80min cdr...please tell me what to do after i encode it to a mpeg file to make the movie file smaller to burn thanx alot...
i dont have a DVD burner.... I have a CDR-RW

It depends on what the original format is. If you are determined to convert to VCD format, then you are limited to CD size. As ghoster said, the best way is to encode it to a smaller file. If it's DIVX, then the easy way is something like TheFilmMachine or DIKO. If you are using TMPGEnc, then lower the bitrate. (And the quality)

keep in mind that if you are burning a "standard" VCD (normal VCD bitrates), then you can use the "minutes" of the video rather than the "size" of the mpeg1 file on your hard drive. You will be able to burn ~800mb of standard VCD mpeg-1 to a 700mb CD-R (or roughly 80 minutes on an 80-minute CD-R). Just make sure your burning software is burning it as a VCD

If you want menus I recommend VCDEasy,don't use Nero's menus and don't let it reencode.
