  1. I was a hardcore Prodisc 4x user (over 400 movies), I've been away from the hobby for a few months, and now I can't seem to find them anywhere.

I need a good quality printable disc that will work without a hitch on my NEC 2500A. Anybody that is using one of these drives please give me input.

For awhile Ritek and NEC weren't spoken in the same sentence, has that changed?

I remember Prodisc print quality was OK at best, is there a printable disc that has a better printing surface?

    Taiyo Yuden
Ditto. When in doubt, use the best Taiyo Yuden

Please note that Taiyo Yuden DVD-R discs on the FUJI label (any FUJI package that says MADE IN JAPAN) are the best along with Taiyo Yuden DVD-R discs bought from RIMA.COM

People have reported getting less than steller TY DVD-R discs when they are purchased in some other way. Apparently some on-line sites are selling Taiyo Yuden DVD-R discs that are either fakes or rejects etc.

Another great brand is the Maxell DVD-R discs that say MADE IN A JAPAN. You either get Maxell's own excellent brand or sometimes you also get Taiyo Yuden (it appears Maxell uses TY when they run out of their own brand).

So either is the best choice for DVD-R discs right now. I'm afraid no other type can really be trusted right now.

    Yeap,

Both Verbatim (MCC) and Taiyo Yuden are excellent choices.

  8. TY all the way!

I've just started researching about blank DVDs recently as well, been experimenting with some TY, Ritek, and verbatim. They all burned fine so far but from what I read the quality on Ritek and Verbatim seem to be going downhill.

MCC is the one that I've had most luck with. I used to get white hub printables with MCC code from supermediastore, but they don't have them anymore. Anyone know where I can find them? I have about 20 of them left, and they're likely going to run out in about 1-2 months.

Verbatim hub prints 1-8x with number (94812) are MCC. They are a little more expensive than prodisc but they are much better quality as well.

These are good but not printable 100 verbatim dvd+r $30
