Call me lame, but I just found out what a ps2 emulator is said to do. Roughly, it is said to allow you to play ps2 games on your pc.
I did a google and found mixed reviews on whether they really work or not.
Is there anyone here that has actually used a ps2 emulator to play ps2 games?
If they really do work, then wich one? I heard that most of these so called emulators are actually virusesWhat are the minimum system requirements in order for the emulator to work.

very few games work on them. and it takes alot of system resources. you have to have a pretty powerful computer to make it kinda work

Hello,
Yeah what glock said.
I think I remember them saying the old 8bit + 16 bit games run on pcs so perfectly because they take no resources to load. The newer PSone/N64 and newer games are so much more complex. They have to take up more memory then a conventional game because your duplicating the original operating system AS WELL AS the actual game itself. At least I think that's what the issue is.....

After another google search, I found that there are other emulators such as Atari (2600, 5200, 7800), nes, sega etc. These are said to definatetly work. Thing is, I can't get one to work. I have the 2600, 5200, xega 0.10, and znes. I've gotten the furthest with the Atari 2600 and 5200
I just can't seem to start the game and play.
Any advice?
I'll go through the steps with the other emulators and post where I get hung up.
Do you guys have any emulator for nintendo and sega that work? -
Try Mame it supports thousands of arcade games and I can verify that it works.

Ive recently downloaded good emulators for the PSX, SNES, NES, N64 and the Atari, and they run fine on my machine.....doesnt use a ton of resources either, as long as you have the right drivers and how to configure them properly. Its pretty cool to be able to play my PSX FF9 on the laptop with the controller, so in the event my real PSX eventually bites the dust, at least I will still have options.

Yeah, the PS2 emulator is pretty much crap. Much better just to get a real PS2 and not worry about having a 12GHz machine to play your games. The emulators for the newer consoles are mainly for using your pirated PS2 downloads without having to own the actual system
The bonus on the older console emulators is that you can fit just about every game ever made for most of the consoles (Atari 2600, NES, Coleco, Etc.) on one disc. I use the emulators on a dreamcast, and they run almost perfect.
BTW, james636, fix the topic title. You can't post images (or format text) in topic titles.
