Sony HDCAM compatibility

I was wondering if the Sony HDCAM decks can play back regular DVCAM tapes.

HDCAm is not the same as HDV.

I know the two are different. We have DVCAM here in the office and I need to send a tape for a festival that has to play in a Sony HDCAM deck. Since our DVCAM can play back DVCPRO tapes, which is an entirely different format (panasonic), I was wondering if HD will play DV since they are both at least from sony. In addition to that, my DVCPRO deck (entirely different deck, to avoid confusion)has dipswitches that allow it to play different kinds of panasonic tapes (25/50). So it seems plausible to me that the HD deck would work in a similar manner.

HDCAM is a totally different animal (format) and uses 1/2 inch digital tape.
