It keeps getting brought up by Pub members. Whenever something isn't the way they want it here in OT it's "well we have the Pub now, so we don't need OT" or "I like the Pub, so please ban me here" or "That's not how it's done at the Pub". I'm not the one who keeps bringing it up, but if they're going to throw it out there, yeah, I'll use it.

I don't care what goes on there but when it's used as ammunition to attack the way I moderate here in OT, then I have to comment on it.

I'm sorry that a bunch of whiney babies pulled you into the middle of it. I'm sure you've realized how impossible it is to make everybody happy. I've tried to do that here, but there are always a few ..... :P

I've got nothing against your forum, mate. Just some of the members who constantly fling their feces at me or OT, whining about a thread that got locked, or some other moderator injustice I seem to have committed, yet there they are ...they keep coming back. Guess they just love to complain ..... :P

your a big fish in a little pond here and I can see it rattles some people's cages when you enforce rules, it happens everywhere . I've nothing against the rules and still can't believe that people are moaning about rules here anyway

I have seen some questionable threads/posts/locked topics but I'd rather not start picking at them and just try to forget about them instead. If anything I know that it's for the good of the forum though others may not see it that way. If I feel strongly enough I'll PM whoever concerned as I'm easy (), though ignorance does piss me off

one thing I would like to ask about and noticed that is becoming more common recently. It's the pathetic IBTL posts that have popped up in the last 2 weeks. Is that what OT is reduced to now and poking fun at locked topics?

is this the new fad as all the gender bender threads have worn thin? Try to get into a thread and get your quick fire posts off before it gets locked? Some people really do need to get a 'real' life or is it that hard to think of something interesting to post :P

if you wanna inject life back into OT then I'm game and it's a shame some other ain't. Who knows maybe we can brighten this place up with a fresh lick of paint

Mostly it doesn't bother me. I'm not as unflappable as tgpo, and probably never will be, but I'm working on it. I try to stay calm and for the most part things here just don't get to me anymore. It is, after all, just a forum.

Ever since being made a mod I've tried to walk the fine line between being "one of the guys" and "one of the cops". And judging from positive comments I've gotten, it has worked. But there always were a few who never accepted me as both. One of them, a long-time member from the UK, always pointed that out. He never intended to accept me and I never really got a fair chance with him.

Plus he never accepted the new face OT got after the shakeup lasy August. For some strange reason some of the regulars saw that as a power trip of mine, never realizing that it was necessary ...else the OT would go away for good. I "took ownership" of OT then in a manner of speaking, only in the sense that I made it my mission to save it from the axe. I had help from other mods too, so it wasn't a solo effort. But it was an effort unanimously supported by the other moderators here, and it appears to have worked.

Many of the old timers still resent that I took the baton in the effort, and perceived it as a way to make OT my own little pissing ground. They're short-sighted and never really grasped the big picture here. All they knew is that some of the freedoms they used to have in what they posted were now gone, and they've never gotten over that.

Now with the Pub opening, I've seen some really spiteful posts directed my way. They never saw what I was trying to do here in OT, and instead, they saw a safe harbor, freeing them to now come into OT and pick at this locked thread or that banning. They have a place to scurry back to now, out of harm's way. And they bring that up again and again.

If you have sensed a change of attitude in me, it's probably real then. Just as I have sensed a higher level of hostility from people I used to call my friends. The reason behind it still baffles me. But I have written it off to either forum burnout or boredom.

Many are still angry over the Calypso/ Shadowmistress business. Those were nothing more than attempts to breathe new life into the OT and give everyone something to talk about. I had sensed it was getting stagnant here. A look at the views/replies to those threads also shows they were successful. But now I'm the bad guy once again for trying something new.

Then my wife dropped her old handle of "bugsie" because she lost her password and wasn't aware of the link to get it e-mailed. So she became "the bomb". We had decided that it would be best, given the climate here, for her to remain anonymous. Mentioning she was a female was fine, but we wanted to keep her identity quiet, at least until she got established here, because she only wanted to be one of the regulars and not treated any differently.

So last night when it was revealed who she was because of a slip-up on my part about picture choices, I get hostility again. Apparently some saw this as somehow being about them, when it really wasn't. I have to take the blame for some of the paranoia, but I mean, come on people. Get over it. You act like I shot your dog or something :P

So here we are today. Most know that "the bomb" is Mrs. Capmaster by now. Let's move on, OK?

I can understand exactly where you are coming from mate . I'm glad you are saying what's on your mind. At least I now have a better understanding about so it can be forgotten about eventually 8). As you say most of the threads in question were busy but I think it was for the wrong reasons in the end . I guess I'm on the fence as I know both sides of the story and can understand both views. That's why I can look from the outside in and see what's going on and think WTF!!! and be puzzled and also laugh about it.

although I wasn't involved directly in the SM saga, I do know a little . First off as Cappie already knows Shadowmistress is a woman though why people still doubt it is beyond me!. Anyone who doesn't believe me can go jump of a bridge for all I care but let it die FFS. It's soooooooooo last year . I also know and understand about the Calypso saga and again, it just went astray but it's to be expected in any forum full of horny males

same with recent saga I suppose, as I said I had a feeling about it being mrs cappie. Personally I didn't think it was a good idea at the time especially with recent events but some threads were entertaining . I'm pleased it's all out in the open as will most of the members here. I think we can all agree that the next gender bender thread should be locked and the key thrown away . Maybe people will move on and ease up a little as there's plenty more ways to breath life into a old dog

I don't give a fart in a windstorm about football <ducks> and don't watch or follow it ...even the super bowl. It's been that way since my Chicago Bears ditched all their good players in 1986, after tearing the league a new one that one magnificent year. Two straight shutouts in the playoffs and winning 48-10 over the Pats in Super Bowl XX 8) So the owners dismantle the team because the good players wanted a raise :P

Since then, I've sworn off football completely. I lost all respect for the Bears ownership and didn't care to watch anymore. So for me, Super Bowl Sunday is just another Sunday
