WMP pixelates videos

ive searched already and got no fruit
heres my problems.
i installed the new k-lite codec pack and ever since wmp cant play wmv files properly, theyre all green and choppy. all other video files appear to be pixelated and blocky.
when i play the same file in media player classic its plays perfectly.
so i uninstalled k-lite codec pack, and it didnt help.
i re-installed the old pack (2.34) and it still hasnt helped.
ive played with the codec settings and messed with vob sub but nothing seems to help.
any suggestions?

You probably haven't removed the problem codecs, just uninstalled the pack. You should never install a whole codec pack, it causes nothing but problems.

Just install the codecs you need. You can do this from the codec pack, just not all of them. I believe Codec Sniper can remove the problem codecs. Media Player Classic has it's own codecs, VLC player also. If they play the files OK, then you still have a codec problem.

You can use AVIcodec or Gspot on a file to see what codec you need. Just install the needed ones, not everything.

i know ive got the needed codecs, i checked for them already. the problem occurs (to a lesser degree) in vlc also.
but in every other program i run (eo-video, tmpgenc, media player classic, divx player, etc) all video files play perfectly. its really annoying as i find wmp perfect for my needs, but now it doesnt work. i just updated to wmp 10 and no difference. i installed the wmv codec from the microsoft site and no help.
