  1. OK i have tried a couple of things, IFOEdit. And it didnt work, once ihad burned my DVD it still made my screen go all crazy. I have heard somethings about DVD Santa but i cant find any tutorials on how to do it. If this is a for sure thing that will convert PAL to NTSC cleanly. Will someone advise me of where i could find the tutorial, And or any other method that would work.
    Thanks

Absolutely not. The ONLY way to foolproof convert INTERLACED source is in hardware.

The BEST way to foolproof convert PROGRESSIVE source is using AVISYNTH stuff and TMPGENC. Search the forum.

Infoedit has worked for me every time. Maybe you missed a step.

  5. Ifoedit does not allow you to convert the video files from PAL to NTSC

Ifoedit will only let you trick a DVD player into thinking it is playing NTSC even when the source files are still really PAL. This is why it does not work properly or at all on some players.

The methods required for converting PAL to NTSC are many and varied, some better than others. It is much easier to convert progressive sources than interlaced.

    Hi Thedown90,
I dont know if this is technically correct ( Lordsmurf, Please feel free correct me ) but the method I use is to get a cheap DVD player that has the ability to set the output being either MULTI, PAL or NTSC and select the NTSC option. Play the Pal dvd, in the cheap dvd player that will output in NTSC and then I capture in S-video to a Gigabyte Radion 9200 VIVO video card using Ulead Movie factory3.( settings, 6000kb and 720 x 480 ) I then use TMPGE dvd Author with the AC3 plug in. The results look great on my Loewe xelos 76cm Widescreen TV.
The main advantage with this method is that you do not have to wait 12hrs for the PAL to NTSC conversion process, all you have to wait for is the DVD to play in real time Eg:1.5Hrs. Also make sure you have a good quality sound card Eg: Sound Blaster Audigy, not the sound card built into your mother board. I hope this helps. Kind regards Greg

  8. Use Nero Vision Express or TMPG DVD Author to convert your DVDs. They are some of the best software available.
