  1. Hi All,

I've been burning, authoring DVDs from AVI for some time all with no problem. However, I've come across something that has me really really stumped.

We've recently got a new Widescreen TV to replace our old one.

On the old TV I had attached my DVD Player (Multi-Region) and could watch any dvd i threw at it.

With my new TV for any US or self-burned DVD the picture flicks to black and white every second, and then goes back to colour and then back to black and white and so on and so on.

I plug a portable TV into the DVD player and it plays fine.

So the question is what is happening inside the TV to causes this black and white to alternate.. Could it be some setting on the TV ???

Any help much much much appreciated.

    Cheers

At a guess, I'd say the new TV is not able to correctly detect the output format from the DVD player. How does your DVD player output NTSC ? Some output a native NTSC signal, some output to a pseudo format called PAL60. If you can force it to output all signals as PAL, and lock your TV to PAL, hopefully things will settle down.

The only other thing would be to check the connections and cables.
