    Is there any software to make my mac dvd player play other region dvd movies? I perfer not to try and hack my dvd player by flashing it. Thanks

    What DVD drive is in your Mac? Some drives (namely Matshita and HL-DT-ST ones) can't play DVDs from other regions.

    Hi WW, I do got the Mitshita CW-8123 cd/rw / dvd player (combo drive / not super drive). But I do own a external LG dvd player/ burner. WOuld that one be ok to work w/ VLC? Thanks

    The external would probably work fine with VLC and MTR on DVDs from other regions. MTR can remove those pesky region codes for ya... Oh, and there seem to be reports of VLC working fine with the Matshita CW-8123 drive... which means that MTR might be OK too...

    WW. I cant get MTR to work on rippping dvd movies w/ my LG external burner (LG GSA512OD). What could it be?? Roxio Toast it does fine. Playing dvd movies on my mac is fine. humm
