What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

  2. They should of given the town a fictitious name so they wouldn't offend anyone.

I saw that story too. It's hard to imagine even "American Girl" can be offensive to some but I can see what people mean.

Anyway, I've never heard of Pilsen... I thought it was like a beer or something.

I have heard of "Cabrini Green" though. Would you be caught dead there (if it still exists)?

Pilsen is a mostly Mexican neighborhood in the southern west side of Chicago. Here is some info:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilsen,_Chicago

Cabrini Green is a housing project. To my knowledge, its still there. Or what still exists. I think they started tearing it down to build "nicer" housing complexes. And no, I would not be caught dead anywhere near there either.

That's the problem you would probably end up dead near there.

Anybody here see the Movie White Boyz?

it's like Malibu's most wanted, but much funnier. And it came out a few Years before Malibu's Most Wanted.

In WhiteBoyz the main character dreams of moving away from Iowa to the ghetto so he can chill all day in his Mercedes, drink champagns and smoke weed with Snoop Dogg.

He dreams of how great his life will be when he moves to the ghetto.
    snappy phrase

    I don't know what you're talking about.

Yes, I saw Whiteboyz years ago and I was pleasantly surprised that I liked it. That's probably where I heard about Cabrini Green in the first place.

    Thanks for the links Conquest.

Pilsen (Czech: Plzen) is the capital of Western Bohemia state in the Czech Republic. It is the home of the original pilsner beer, one of them is Pilsner Urquell. I've been there a couple of times, and like this town a lot.

    Just a little history lesson:

On the morning of May 6, 1945, the U.S. 16th Armored, 97th and 2nd Infantry Divisions entered the town officially liberating the city from Nazi occupation. Preceding the liberation, Czech civilians initiated an armed insurgency and elements of the U.S. 8th AAF and British bombers targeted strategic locations. The liberation of the famous Pilsner beer and munitions city marked the deepest point of American penetration into Czechoslovakia.

The first time I heard of Cabrini Green was in 1992, in the movie Candyman. It was a scary place in the movie too. Just don't look in the mirror and say his name 5 times.

You know as I read the news story I had one thought come to mind...STFU.

Give me a freakin break. I don't know anything about Pilsen or anyother place mentioned but as Conquest describes it, the story seems to be pretty accurate.

Hey I know some neighborhoods on the west side of Dayton, when after dark, the best place to be is somewhere else. Now maybe if the fine folks of Pilsen are offended about the statements made about their community, maybe they should do something to change the truth.

What is wrong in America where you cannot call a spade a spade? For fucks sake, if it walks like a duck, it quacks like a duck...it's a ******* duck. If Pilsen looks like a hood, it has behavior like a hood...then it is a ******* hood and the suberbs are clearly a better place to raise a child.

And if you are so offended and don't like our country...get the **** out, the Colorado river swims both ways you know... <and that is not a anti-hispanic statement, that goes for everyone who thinks the USA sucks...GET THE **** OUT....leave if it sucks so bad, it is America Jack...you are not bound here, you are free to leave anytime you wish...so STFU or GTFO

"It's very offensive and it's really a slap in the face to the hardworking people of the Pilsen community," said Alvaro R. Obregon, who lives near where the doll, Marisol, supposedly lived before setting out for suburban Des Plaines.
I think it's a lie. I lived in Des Plaines for a while and I never saw her there

What I think is so funny is people get upset at stereotypes saying their not true, and then act like the stereotype set them out to be. I knew a lady in a trailer park who got upset and had this big article in the newspaper where she argued about a comment of "White Trash" only lived in that trailer community and that's why they were enforcing the Police occupation around the park. 2 weeks later she was busted for cocaine possesion with intent to sell, and she was about to be evicted anyway for not paying rents and utilities. They even had to tear down the trailer and file damage charges against her because the trailer had been soextensively abused and the bathroom was like it had never been used and was completely full of trash filled bags.

Honestly, If you have a gripe about a doll like that, I'd say DON'T BUY IT!
