Best 8x media for Sony 710A?

I've been doing some searching but there doesn't seem to be a clear cut winner.

For consoles and dvd movie backups (lol).

I've been using (I think) the 4x housebrand from meritline.com and those worked great with my Sony 510A, but I'm getting a lot of write errors with the 710A on dvd movies. I've been able to burn other stuff on Memorex +RWs without any issues, so I don't think there's anything wrong with the burner. And I have upgraded the firmware.

Also, I'm looking for silver-faced media so I can print on them.

The Sony 710A is a rebadged Liteon 1633S drive, and as such it prefers "+R" media over "-R". You might want to go and spend a few minutes/hours reading on the Liteon forum at http://club.cdfreaks.com

In general, I have had excellent results at 8x with RICOHJPNR01 and PRODISCR03 media.

Mine likes RICOHJPN R01 and R02.

TDK TTG02 and Verbatim MCC 02RG20 at 4x

Verbatim MCC 002


It especially doesn't like Prodisc F01 at any burn speed.

Has problems with CMC MAG E01 also.

Okay, I ended up ordering Taiyo Yuden 8x +Rs (YUDEN000T02) from rima.com.
