I do hope you will allow and excuse this as a new topic.

Neither DVDs play on my new machine as they did on the old, from UltraDVD/DVDIdle.

Nor from selecting Windows Media Player, which says both are "Unknown".

In Windows Explorer the commercial one plays on clicking the individual VOBs like VIS_TS_VOB and perfectly on VIS_01_0.VOB.

My DVD from Studio 8/Nero Burn has a menu. Clicking VIS_01_.VOB shows that menu, but the chapter thumbnails are not moving and the whole has frozen and is not responding.

Has anyone a sugestion on the common features and none playing?

My emails to UltraDVD are being refused delivery, presumably on the basis I have changed my email service since purchase, (anyone know how to raise them).

OS is W2K3 server, all the Media Players, Nero Burning, NEC ND3500 CD/DVD reader/writer, Studio 9 all on the C drive.

The solution is to stop wasting time and therefore money trying tp play disks on the computer when I have a perfectly good TV right next to it.

I can replace the VCR with a super all singing and dancing DVD\VCR with the 'award of the year' for £117. It will play all my disks without the hassle I have had on the computer - and much more.

On the computer I will continue to burn disks with Nero from the editing in Studio 9, with lovely menus, on DL DVD blanks.

And I can get on with my software developement, even more interesting.
