I recorded two DVD-Rs for the first time on a JVC M10 DVD recorder.
The DVD-Rs I used are MXLRG02 4x and TYG01 4x.
I recorded about 45 minutes of content at FR300.
Both of these DVD-Rs play back perfectly on an old floor model Apex 3201, but when I try to play them on a Cyberhome 500, after about 90seconds or two minutes, the screen freezes and then the elapsed time display, instead of playing at normal speed 1...2...3...4..., moves faster 1.2.3.4.5. ....
If I press the stop button on the remote and then play, the DVD-R will resume playing normally for a few more minutes before the the same problem occurs.
If I don't press stop but try to press any other button on the remote, then the whole unit locks up, and I have to power off the Cyberhome.

I would appreciate any advice on anything I can do to remedy the situation. Is there a firmware upgrade that will resolve this ? I had bought this Cyberhome 500 back when they were first introduced -- I think that was 2-3 years ago. The funny thing about the Cyberhome having problems playing the DVD-Rs is that it plays my Sony made in Japan DVD-RW just fine.
Or am I looking at having to purchase another player (that excels at playing DVD-Rs/DVD-RWs) when I want to play DVD-Rs/DVD-RWs in the living room (the Apex is kept in the bedroom) ? Is there a DVD player that will play un-finalized DVD-Rs and/or DVD-RWs ?
