  1. Hello,

I posted the following request elsewere in this forum as a follow up on an existing thread, but people didn't like the idea; I have "hijack an old one".

So, I am sorry if this is redundant here.

I get the following crash detail when I tried using virtualDubMod to open a file (as described here) created by DVD2AVI, which was ripped with DVDDecrypter:

"An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'huffyuv'......while decompressing video frame 0 with "Huffyuv v2.1.1" [biCompression=55594648] (VideoSource.cpp:1823). "

I have download and installed the panasonic codec as well. What could have gone wrong here. I am a nubie here, so I appreciate your help.

    Best,
    John

Dont you need VFAPI to convert the ~.d2v to a ~.d2v-vfapi.avi so that VirtualDub can read the file?

Read this guide for manual DVD to avi conversion (you can use either Smart Ripper or DVDDecrypter to rip the DVD):

Open the VOB in Virtual Dub.

Add a resize filter if necessary.

Set Compression to Panasonic DV codec in the video tab.

    Save as............

    Or use Avisynth!

I would use the updated version of DVD2AVI, which is called DGMPGDec

Follow the quick start guide in the package for how to use Avisynth to open the.d2v file in Vdub.

  5. A SMALL IDEA:
    1.UNINSTALL HUFFYUV
    2.RESTART
    3.INSTALL VER2.1.1 (NOT 2.2.0.1)
    4.RESTART
    5.TRY
