  1. My PC cannot pick up burned dvds. My dvd burner is a Sony DRU-710A with BYX2 firmware. I am burning dvds using DVD Shrink. Media being used is Memorex DVD-Rs. I can play the burned dvds on my PS2 and my friend's computer as well as the settop dvd player. All Firmwares are up to date as well as drivers. I took my burner and hooked it up to my friend's PC and played the burned dvd in the burner and it plays on his computer and not mine. Can someone give me some light as to what could be causing my computer to not pick up the burned dvds?

Hmmmm ..your burner won't read it on your PC, but it will on his.

Have you tried it on yours again after reconnecting it? I'm thinking the lens was dirty and moving it disturbed dust on it and let it read OK.

If not, then it sounds like you may have a marginal power supply in your PC (voltage too low or too high, noise on the DC)

  3. How do I go about checking the voltage? How would voltage affect this?

I'm having a hard time trying to understand how voltage could effect playback of burned dvds on my PC since I can play the original dvds without a problem.
