Hello everybody, I am currently on my 4th dvd recorder and need to make a decision on weather or not to keep it.
I currently have a panasonic dmr-55. Although I like the build quality and some of the features I am just not impressed with the picture quality.
I purchased this unit at Sears because I had an extended warranty for an older vcr and was able to get a $100.00 credit back. To make a long story short I need to buy form Sears. I have only about a week left to return the Panasonic if I choose to.
Here is my dillema, I dont see much else to choose from at Sears. The only other recorder in my price range is the lite-on 5007 which is currently on sale for $169.99. I have also noticed that this product is eligable for the product replacement guarentee which the Panasonic is not. I can get the replacement Guarentee for only $25.50, for the panasonic costs at least $69.99 and they try to fix it.
My question is which is the better buy, the lite-on for $170 + $25 for a 1 year warrenty or the Panasonic which I currently own.
How does the picture quality compare to the Panasonic, is it appreciably better, I am only interested if it is much better to go through the hasssle.
Sorry if this e-mail is confusing, there is a long story behing it but I am basically trying to figure out which unit is better overall.
Thanks for any advice.
Take Care everybody
