  1. hello

i am trying to burn some small avi clips onto 4.7gb dvds, i ve tried loads of programs and i got the best results from cheetah burning program, however, they burn onto disk fine ( i can see the dark patch underneath) but when i put them into my dvd player it says"reading" and then just automaticly ejects the disk.
help will be greatly apprieciated as i am trying to send my nan some home videos for her to watch.
    thanks

  2. You can't simply burn avi's to a DVD and expect them to play. Unless you have one of the few players that support divx avi's, you need to convert them to DVD-Video format. Read some of the many guides for info on how to do that.

and i got the best results from cheetah burning program
After a little research I have seen that this is a program without a -ready to do- Video DVD, this means that you have to make alone 2 folders one AUDIO_TS and one VIDEO_TS and unfortunatelly bugster is right....
You MUST read something first, BUT if you like something fast, try this:

I am not so sure that you are right my friend....
There are very cheap stand alones that plays almost everything, and there are some older brand names, like Sonys for example that plays only original.
But tell me have you tried your DVD-R somewhere else, or even in your own computer and if yes what was the files like ????
Are they still in .avi format or they are looking like a .VOB in their end ???
