Hello, has anyone tried to convert Part 2 of the Star Wars Series Beneath the Dome about R2D2? I got the first one downloaded and converted no problem, but now the second one they have done something new and sneaky to keep it from being converted. This is my experience:

If I use Streambox to download the .mov I get a 33mb file along with some other html documents, several 192kb .mov files, and 1 .cab file labeled qtplugin. When I try to play the movie by double clicking it it tells me there is an error, plays that message for 1 second informing me to reload the movie from starwars.com, and opens a browser window. When I load the 33mb .mov in TMPGEnc I get a 1X1 pixel image. Also, when I use Streambox to download I get one file that is 2kb that is the same name as the name in the url and another, which is the larger movie, that gets renamed as show below. In the url it is something like
    r2-d2_btd_pt2_480.mov and gets renamed to
    r2-d2_btd_pt2_m480.mov

Also, if you paste the url for the movie in an open player it will load it and play it. I know it MUST be on my computer somewhere because after it loads I can automatically skip around in the movie without reloading. I can not find the file ANYWHERE in the Temporary Internet Files.

Has Apple and George finally defeated us, or merely challanged us? Any thoughts, help, or suggestions greatly appreciated.

  2. This worked for the ep2 behind scenes. It should work for this too? Check the 2nd from last post. Need QT pro 5 for this posted solution.

After hunting down a .mov that would allow saving and messing around with it for a while I got it!!! Rovert is either a genius for discovering this or a simply a wonderful person for passing on the lowdown on this conversion method. "Kick ass"-Eric Cartman
