Question for Guitarman

When using the hacks listed on your page,
1. Should I upgrade with Ilo's firmware and THEN use yours??
2. Or do I pass up Ilos & just use yours??

ok, Mr. Wizards program is great, I hope Guitarman doesnt mind, but what I did was download the official firmware at http://www.ilohelp.com then download his automatic hacking program. Then extract the zip contents, then run his program, it will ask to find the firmware you downloaded, find it and click it, then it will hack it right there and show you exactly what it did, then it automatically saves on your harddrive under c:/hacked or wherever you chose. Then burn that file strait to a data disc and pop it into the ILO in dvd mode (with the ILO wallpaper in the background) and click yes to update. You may want him to confirm that, but thats what I did, worked like a charm. Just be sure to match the corresponding firmware with your player, the ilohelp.com website will show you which one to download, it depends on what s/n you have in the setup menu

No Sheri, you don't have to load official firmware before you load the hacked firmware.

I've been gone a couple of days and missed your post. As Harp said, you only need the 1 firmware file. You can get both the hacked and unhack versions of the file from my sight. To take advantage of Wizard's program, make sure you download the UNHACKED version and run the program on it. Good luck!!!

Does the program strip out the ANTI-DOWNGRADE scripting in the modern firmware files?

Do you mean allowing you to downgrade? If so, it must because I loaded the hacked 1097, seemed like maybe I was dropping frames pretty badly during a couple of movies so I went to 1095 hacked. Not knowing if I succeeded in the downgrade I went to nonhacked 1097, tried to back up a dvd, got the macrovision shutdown, went back to 1095, got the 3hr mode back and shut off mac detection.
