It's been hovering around 0 to 10 degrees here the last 4 or 5 days and I have been working in it. When I take a delivery it's wet etc. anyhow on to the story, I'm amking a delivery to my own house which I've lived in since I was 5. there's a small alley next to it where I have to make the delivery so I have to block it. So I'm doing my thing and some lady comes down the street and has the nerve to ask me to move the truck so she can get by. The thing is before she gets to where she is she would has plenty of time to decide to go down many other streets or alleys. On top of that she could simply back up 50 feet and go down another alley. I'm talkin a 20 second detour here tops.

So it's 5 degrees out, the coal is freezing inside the truck by the second and this lady is bitching because I'm blocking the road that she doesn't have to go down anyway. I tell her to back up and she goes "I can't this is a one way" "Oh really" says me....... It's not a one way.

I'd have told her I didn't have the keys but if she had a few minutes that I could go find out who has them and then move the truck. Go back in the house for a while and wait for her to get the sense to go away.

Yes especially when it's 5 degrees out, it's a diesel. Lot of places like quarry's just leave them idle all night around here if they have to leave them out in this kind of weather.

I would have acted like I was deaf, and I would have signed something to her like I didn't understand.

Or I could just act like I have a I.Q. of 50 and talk to her with drool coming out of my mouth.... "ummmmm sure I'll move it, could you back up a little first I sometimes forget whether the R or D is forward."."

I think it would have been funny if you would have just waved to her, like she was honking to say "hello"

Yelling: "Could you roll the window down a little farther I can't hear you the TB has affected my hearing."

Edit: I like the wave idea, that will infuriate most people like that.

That or just give them a thumbs up like you understand, then walk away for a while.

I would have just told her that I'd be moving the truck just as soon as I was done and then I would of simply walked away from her.

You should wear ear protection, both for the weather and if someone like that comes up to you, you can say loudly, "Yes, Maam. The problem's almost over and is no longer dangerous. You shouldn't be able to smell propane outside anymore."

  17. First off, to answer the subject line .. "because its soo easy for them."

Now, my favorite way of dealing with people like that is, quite simply, just stare at them with the blankest look that you can possibly muster up from deep down within, for about 15 seconds, then smile, then chuckle, then say (dont know the spelling) "Schprekenzie da anglish?" Or something akin to that It works WONDERS!!! lol

"Yes, thank you" and lots of head nodding.
    Then walk away.

Do it with some sort of slight Euro accent.
