    Hi all,

I've got a huge problem that I need to resolve in the next couple of weeks. I've got a (VHS copy) of a movie that my friend wants. I've converted it to mpeg2 for DVD but another friend wants to play a joke on him, you see, this film is '75 nurse orgy' He wants the movie to play for a couple of minutes, then switch to 'text', say something like (J*** sucks Donkey c**k) and then change to 'Magic Roundabout' (which I also have), I have access to DVDSP3 but I find it somewhat overwhelming. Does anybody have any ideas? timdmgd.

P.S. I'm sure that this kind of thing is covered absolutely loads of times but I'm just too tired to search and need my bed.

    HA!
    goo one.

    HEre's what I would do:

One, first hopefully you still have the capture footage, and hopefully its in iMovie4.

    if so,
    1. Open iMovie have the footage setup in the timeline.
    2. navigate to where you want the movie to stop playing.

Now, go open photoshop, Graphic Converter, or somesuch.
Something you can create bitmap graphics in.

    1. Create a document that is 720 x 480
fill with black. Be sure to make sure you select
"with guides", so you know where to stay "in" to avoid the
    non safe areas.

    2. With white text, type in big bold letters your statement.

    3. flatten, save as .jpg with a setting of 8 (high quality, low compression)

    now back to imovie

    1. import the picture still to the clip pane
    2. where you marker is at for the movie to stop,
    go to -->Edit-->Split at playhead.
The movie will cut at that point, drag you picture to the split,
putting it in between the footage.

    Now, switch to clip view.
Select all the movie clips up until the picture,
and then the picture, and then
go --File-->Export amd export out as Quicktime-->Full DV
with the box checked " only these selected clips".

After the DV exports, save and close this project.

Open your other iMovie project for the second movie.
import footage, edit if necessary, save as
    Quicktime-->Full DV.

open Compressor, batch the DV footage
to the proper setting, like fast 90 min or whatever,
not knowing how much footage will end up being
on the final disc, I can't tell you
( you will need BitBudget Calc for that)
    figure out your total video,
    and compress accordingly.

    When that's done, open DVDSP3.

    1. Open DVDSP3, create new project.
    2. create menus as necessary.
Bring in your footage, and place on the appropriate track.
You can run both .m2v's on the same track, and it will appear seamless.
    3. repeat for audio track.
    4. simulate, then if it plays well, burn and format.
    5. if not, fix any flaws, then burn and format.

Since it sounds like a simple DVD, you should be
using one of the "canned" templates of DVDSP3
and a simple play button to play the track will suffice.

if you get stuck, give me a holla!
