Expensive cables rarely will improve any thing. Unless you are crossing power cables then you just want to make sure and buy shielded cables.

Bad or dirty jacks/ports are more likely to cause problems.

Save money then buy better equipment if you are having a problem.

Are you trying to remedy a problem or do you just want fancy looking cables?
    snappy phrase

    I don't know what you're talking about.

  7. Acoustic Research, they have different lines, from very inexpensive but good quality for the price all the way up to the really premium quality stuff. The stuff I've bought is their 'performance series', half the cables I've bought on clearance from Sears and Best Buy, but most of there cables are under $20 in that line anyway, and very well made for the price. The cables are usually blue in color, so they are easy to spot compared to their other stuff.

They have a Pro II and Master series, as well as just cheap regular AR stuff too, but I've read good things about these 'performance' cables, and they aren't priced insanely like Monster Cable stuff, etc.

GE Ultra Pro Grade aren't bad and considerable less expensive than Monster. You can buy the at Fry's if you have one near you, or plenty of places sell them online.

I've also used the Acoustic Research mentioned above. Good cables also.

  9. That looks like a pretty good site, and their prices on the 'Pro II' cables are hardly any more than their prices on the 'Performance' cables. Those GE cables look like a good inexpensive cable too, as much as I generally cringe at the thought of GE products :P

I'm at the "buying-the-hardware-for-the-captures" stage and since I don't have any cables, I figured I would go ahead and spend an extra dollar or 2 for good ones.

Ok well Brain and Steve's suggestions too really good. Shipping looks a little high, but the cable prices are right. I just look for shielded and get whatevers cheapest.

I have experience using monster cables hooking up a guys TV that had no idea what he was doind, but he has plenty of money so he bought the most expensive stuff he could buy. I brought some of my cheapo cable just to compare. no difference since I routed the cables to the they didn't cross power cables.

These are just opinions of my exeriences though not a large enough sampling to be fact.

    good luck with your captures.
