Sorry but you either have the wrong version of nero or you weren't doing it right b/c nero does do that. Not that I'd recommend it because the quality is crap, at least to me.

"any" is not a video format

you have to identify what it is before you can convert it

TMPGENC and Nero can do it as well as lots of other programs

maybe you could try a slideshow program like ulead PictureSHow it accepts photos and video

ive used this to throw lots of different video onto a dvd and if pictureshow dosnt accept it you have to convert it

If you want them to play like a DVD, then you need to convert to DVD.

I would love this. In a perfect world... this would happen. Of course, in a perfect there would only be one superior video standard. This world is far from perfect. Conversion from .avi, .mov, .wmv, etc takes time... period. Learn how to use tools like TMPGENC and TMPGENC DVD Author... learn all the lingo, learn everything you can. Why must it always be about the result and how fast you can get it? What happened to joy of learning and the journey to the objective?

So, to answer your question briefly: No... there is no program that just magically brings random video files into into DVD compliance and burns them to dvd in a short amount of time.

Might take a little effort, but worth it.

  16. What kind of AVI file is it (AVI is just a container for various file formats) - what does avicodec or gspot or video toolbox tell you about it?

  17. if it open in media player, make TMPGEnc use the DirectShow Filter to open it (though if it can open it as a regular DML AVI it's faster....meh....)
