SVCD Subtitles

I have followed the new guide just posted, tried time and time again. Yet it doesn't work!!! And before you ask my player supports SVCD subs, it even says so in the manual that came with it! Does anyone have any idea what I could be doing wrong?

*note* I am burning with Nero from the *.mps as the guide suggested and not Iauthor

maybe you are not creating real SVCD subs (I-Author does not create SVCD subs! but something like pre-standard CVD-subs which are not part of the actual SVCD specs!)

If you want to test an mpeg with real SVCD subtitles, you can try to burn the following bin/cue test svcd image:

btw, what dvd player do you have?

How do I create switchable subs SVCD's?
I also burned a cif image (with two switchable subtitles, downloaded from VCDHelp)but it didn't work in my DVD player, a Pioneer DV-333 (SVCD Subs compatible in the Comparison List)
I made many tests with I-Author, but none of them worked.

forget pioneers, I've got two myself, no way to get them to display svcd subs...

The model DVD player I have is a Genica Kalua, and I just tested that file and it doesnt display subtitles either. And if you want to see the reference in the manual there is a pdf version: www.genica.com/drivers/GN800Manual.pdf
