    How come when i put a 160 GB HDD in one of the PCs it gets really hot?

    Therefore if i put it in the other PC it doesnt get hot and theyre both in there for the same length of time?

    Why is this

    One PC has better cooling inside the case. More fans ...better fans maybe?

    Yeah probably, do u also know a good program that does a cluster scan , surface scan whatever its called i wnna check my files for errors..

    in its most basic form (in WinXP), right click on the drive letter(s) -> Properties -> Tools -> Check Now... button -> tick the two check boxes and start the scan. You may be prompted to restart windows. (Windows must have exclusive access to this drive... blah blah blah).

    You could also go to Western digital's web site. they most likely have a tool/diagnostic software you could download and run.
