  1. I am using ATI AIW Pro card with SBLive X-gamer. I am trying to transfer VHS to MPG. I can do this but I get no sound. My VCR only has Audio out (no L/R-just out) and video out. I used the cable that came with card and plugged red to red, yellow to yellow and I get video but no sound. Shouldn't something link the AIW with my SBLive?

    Thanks.

  3. I have this same setup...this sounds stupid but did you connect the audio out component on your AIW to your sound card? You MUST do this if you want sound. If you have done that, double click on the yellow speaker in the lower right hand side of your screen and make sure that whatever port the sound out of your AIW is plugged into (it could be line in or aux) is NOT muted. Everything should then work perfectly. Let me know....

  4. I tried this...
I used cable 4to1 that came with AIW.
I hooked red cable from vcr audio out to red cable AIW.
I hooked yellow cable from vcr video out to yellow AIW.
    Video no sound.
    Then I tried...
I hooked red cable from vcr audio out to line in on SBLive.
I kept yellow in same place (video).
    Still no sound.
I don't think the red cable going into the sound card had the right type of end on it...at least it didn't look like the end on my speaker cables.
And yes I made sure line in was un-muted.

  6. Yup I can help. Okay so you are plugging the composite outs of the VCR into the purple dongle thingy right? So what you have to do is take the cable that plugs into the video OUT part of your AIW card (it has like four different cables that all plug into the video out...this is NOT the purple dongle) Plug into the out on your AIW and take the cable of the four that looks like a headphone jack. Plug THAT into the line-in or Aux port in your sound card. Then make sure that that isn't muted (double click on the yellow speaker icon in the lower right corner of your screen and make sure that it isn't muted) and then it will work. Email me directly if you are still having problems.

  7. Audio out from VCR to Audio in on AIW (4-way purple cable). Audio out from AIW to Line in on SoundBlaster, go to Recorder Properties, set for Line-in and check Not Muted.
Must set for Windows and in AIW setup.
