  1. We have a series of Training DVDs at work that my boss wants me to backup. He wants me to put a little animation at the front of the disc that says "This is a Backup copy made for "our company" Any other use is prohibited" Blah Blah. Anyway, I told him I could do this. I got PGCEdit and used the built in macro to add a first play title and pointed it to the animation I created in After Effects. When I burned the disc and placed it in my DVD player all I got was a black screen and that is it. I couldn't do anything with it. I'[ve tried many different approches to this but none of them seem to be working. Can anyone tell me how I can go about doing this so I can make the boss happy.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Use a dvd authoring program that accepts vob files and you can add it to the beginning that way. Tmpgenc DVD author does this. As do some others found in the tools section on the left of the screen in the section labled LISTS.

  4. well if your dvd is already made, but now you want to go back and add this first play item in. The only app that lets you add things into an already authored dvd and save it, is dvdremake pro

  5. Thanks for the advice. I will give it a try. As for DVDReMake, I'm a big fan of the project. I've also tried that route, but again, once I've made the disc and burned it. It won't play. If I just author a disc with the opening that I want, it plays just fine. I wanted to see if there was a problem with in encoding, but the file seems to be alright. I will give the other suggestions a try. Thaks for the responce.

  7. For DVDLab Pro, you just use two VTS.
The second is your static content, the stuff that never changes. The first is where you edit/add/remove/change whatever you want.
Once the first VTS has finished playing, it automatically starts playing the second.
There are plenty of hints and tricks to do this sort of stuff at www.mediachance.com in their forums.
