I'm wanting to capture little clips from multiple DVDs and then merge them together on one DVD, making each separate clip a different chapter.
I tried doing some research and have acquired several programs I think might work...but I am still a bit lost. If someone could tell me which programs will best allow me to 1) capture just the clips I want from the .VOB files on the DVDs and then 2) author a disc with these multiple clips...I would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.
Thanks in advance!!

Use DVD Decrypter to rip the vobs from the discs into mpeg format. That's free.
As for authoring that's entirely up to the size of you wallet and needs. Look in the tools section under authoring tools. -

If you don't want or need any editing apart from setting start and end points (like no transitions/effects between clips or anything) or menus then IMO DVDShrink's Start/End feature in reauthor mode is probably going to be the fastest/easiest way to do it. Rip each disc to your hard drive then use DVDShrink in reauthor mode to import the DVDs in, then use the start/End feature to isolate the sections you need.
If you want menus, then Using DVDShrink's Start/End feature on each disc separately then importing each title into something like TMPGEnc DVD Author would be the way that I'd do it.If in doubt, Google it. -
Thanks to each of you for your advice!
I have had some decent success using DVD Decrypter to rip about 4 DVDs to my HD and then using Nero Vision Express 2 to trim the clips I am wanting to use.
1 of the 4, however, has ripped French audio to several clips and the director's comments/voiceovers in another clip I am wanting to use. Did I mess something up when I ripped using DVD Decrypter?? Any suggestions on how to get the normal (English) audio for this one problem movie?
TIA. -
