  1. the tv tuner in this goes to ch. 125. might sound stupid, but i'll still be able to record the upper digital stations from my cable box, right? my cable box goes into the 400's for pay per view and music channels.

    Use the analog video and audio outputs of your cable box when connecting it to the Pioneer ... do not use the RF cable.

    Problem solved.

    Right, you can only record the cable's analog channels with the built-in tuner. The best method is to connect using the line input as stated above.
