  1. Hi, is this possible, I want to keep the DVD-ROM features on a dvd (Sopranos S1)
I tried InstantCopy 8 but it seemed to not work, or did I do something wrong???

    Thanks.

DVD-ROM feature is actually PC data. You have to use the program you want to keep the DVD-Video features which also includes the DVD-ROM feature menu option on the DVD then copy all data except the VIDEO_TS and the AUDIO_TS folder into the same folder with your modified DVD-Video. to burn it use a third party burning software to add the vido and data contents.

    AHEM.

    Ok, here we go.

Make the TARGET of your preferred shrinkage program a VIDEO_TS folder and NOT an ISO image. In Shrink you do this by picking "create DVD video files in a folder" after you hit burn. It's on the leftmost tab.

Then, when it's done, make a folder called "DVD". In that folder, put the VIDEO_TS that your shrink program made.

THEN, copy all the OTHER folders off the original DVD. Any files from the root, any subfolders, anything OTHER than the VIDEO_TS.

Then fire up your favorite burning program such as Nero, tell it to make a VIDEO DVD, and drag all the files from that DVD folder onto it... and hit "go".

Simple, huh? You were just overthinking it.

I've never done this myself, but I suspect that you'll need to keep in mind that because the DVD Rom data is using up some of the available disc space you'll need to set a custom size in Shrink by subtracting the amount of space your DVD Rom content takes from 4480. Otherwise the resulting files from DVD Shrink, and the DVD Rom content will not fit on a DVD5.

(not sure if IC8 will let you set custom size... never used it)

I also suppose that if you're burning with NERO you will have to create the directories that you need and drag those over to mimic the structure of the original DVD...

So you would drag the IFO/VOB files into the VIDEO_TS folder as usual, and create a seperate folder for the DVD Rom data.

I guess this should work, but you should probably test it on a ReWritable disc.

Given that you're only using a DVD5, if the DVDrom content is under 700mb, it might be easier to just copy it out to a CDR, leaving the DVD for the video+ menu's.. it's not like it needs to be on a DVD anyway...
