  1. Hi,

I am thinking of getting the Lite On LVW-5005. A couple of my friends
bought it recently, but they can't answer the following questions:

If I get a PAL VHS player and play a PAL VHS, will the DVDR be able to record that signal onto a writeable DVD ?
I am guessing that it will record it in a PAL format. Will this DVD player
be able to output an NTSC signal for my NTSC TV from the PAL DVD?

Ie, to convert my PAL VHS tapes to DVD and to be able to watch them
here in the USA using an NTSC, I only need to buy in addition to this
DVDR a PAL VHS player, or a multisystem VHS player.

    Thanks.

Lite-On's site says the 5005 comes with <either> NTSC or Pal/Secam tuner. So it looks like you can choose one.
That's what makes standards great, there are so many to choose from
