I have just received my new PV256t tv in card and I am running into a few problems. When I capture in "SVCD or DVD" mode (or any Mpeg 2 setting), the picture quality is fine but the clip is slighly jerky. By saying this, it will play fine for about 3 seconds, then stops slightly (like it jerks). This is contant throughout the clip. The only way around it is to capture the audio and video seperately (which is not what I want to do). When I capture in "VCD" mode the .mpg clip is fine and everything runs perfectly.

This is what I have tried:

Both HDD are set to DMA
    All power managements are off
    Another PC
    Re-installation of Windows ME
    Downloaded the newest drive (1.7)
    Reinstalled power DVD

Does anyone know or have good success with this card?
I would be sooooo much appreciated if someone can point me in the right direction.
I am so frustrated and would hate to think how much time I have spent on this problem

    PLEASE HELP ME someone?

My old card is a dc10+ plus which is great (still got it. but I am sick of waiting to encode AVI to .mpg So hence the purchase of the PV-256T.

  2. Do your captures playback jerky when played back through the PV256 with Hardware decode enabled. If so is it just as jerky with Power DVD.
Had you burnt a SVCD and tried to play it back in a standalone DVD player.
What I'm getting at is:- Is the encoding the problem or the playback.
You say if you capture separate video and audio files everything is fine. Have you multiplexed the two together and then tried it in Power DVD.
If the encoding is the problem them it's the multiplexing on the fly that is causing the problem so you need to discover what is holding up the CPU or PCI bus.
What sound card and motherboard do you have.
    Also theres a PV256 Forum at http://www.delphi.com/PV256
    cheers
