  1. I would like to hear any first hand experience from those who have burned their own DVD+R DL disks and have a player that plays them back 100% of the time. What model player do you have? What is the burner you use? What media are you using? I have been using Verabtim disks and my JVC does not like them (then again, I don't believe any JVC unit is rated for DVD+R).

    Hello,

    https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

Browse through that for models you're interested in.

Users post the media brand and experiences they have with the dvd player.

Found on the left of the screen under "LISTS"

Yeah, I 've looked through those, but so far all I can find is "yes, it played them", but no real info about what authoring software they used, what they burned it with, what nedia they used, etc. I'm looking for very specific experiences. Thanks!

  4. ive got a 2 year old Lg 5620 that plays them,as do my xbox, sometimes the ps2(if i dont make eye contact with it,well at least thats what it feels like),2el cheapo pacifics,a sony player, and an alba car player that play them too.only problem player is the ps2 like i say.
as for a burner, its a pioneer 108.ive used the verbatim DL and ritek DL and my players play both in equal quantitys.but i hear different storys from different people about them, some have probs with riteks, others with verbatim.
the pioneer burns +DL in dvd-rom mode,so there shouldnt really be a problem.
not authored a DL disc yet,but i use dvddecrypter to burn them,ISO-read(from original),ISO-write(to backup).

Bottom line is we don't know yet.

Even if the media was cheap, I wouldn't send DL media out yet. Writers, media and players need to be tested in all combinations.

We have all been burned by DVDR media incompatabilty in tha past and we won't fall into that trap again.

I have a JWIN JD-VD503 DVD player, and it has played every DVD+R DL that I have burned (which would be about 4 now, all Verbatim burned w/ DVD Decrypter) flawlessly. Actually, it has played everything I've thrown at it, and it is multi-region (plays all my region 2 DVD's great!) with pro. scan. Great picture too!
