These file were recorded wed. and played fine without any problems until yesterday. Also when i record new file they play out of sync. the audio is only about 1 second behind the video. I see the video before i hear the audio. It plays fine at the beginning then when i go to the middle to find out approx. where i need to cut the audio gets out of sync. Please help. Thanks for any help.

  2. sounds like your computer is dropping frames during capture. Are you using virtualdub to capture? If so make sure the synch audio to video box is checked under settings. That should fix your frame issue.....

no its not dropping frames. they are recorded as MPEG-1, 1.59 mbit files. These are the dame files i recorded last week and that played fine after i recorded them. i edited a few of them then i tried a few different editing programs besides TMPGEnc and not they wont paly in sync. all the file i have are unedited with commercials, they just play out of sync now.

  4. That is really strange...it sounds like something weird with your computer not the capture. So they DID work fine and then suddenly, they went out of synch? Is that right? Or did they go out of synch after you edited them? If that is the issue I would recommend using MYFLIX or IFILM EDIT or Virtualdub since TMPGenc seems notorious for sketchy mpeg cuts (though I have never had the synch issue myself....)

The did paly fine before friday or saturday. i havent edited them yet. I installed VideoStudio 5 and didnt like it so i uninstalled it. It seemed to happen after this. At first after i could go to any part of the file by dragging the bar on the bottom. i found a Ligos ****** something, not sure what it said. Changed some settings and i could go to any part of the file. After i restarted WMP it was gone from the properties menu. now there is a Logos MPEG Splitter in ther but it is just info about ligos. No settings. i dont know what to do now.

i found out what the problem was. i remembered about the Ligos thing in the Properties said Ligos MPEG Player. I went to google and searched for ti and downloaded it. When i installed it there was a setting for something. After that i opened media player and and went to Ligos MPEG Video Decoder. There were settings, Connect to Ligos Splitter Only, Play MPEG-2 Only, Use Overlay Mixer, and Enhanced Precision. The ones i have checked are: Connect to Ligos Splitter Only, and Enhanced Precision. The other two are unchecked. I dont know if removing Ligos LSX-MPEG Demo will kill it or not, but iw works now, so im fine.
