    So, I have my handy-dandy TMPGEnc program and a 110 minute DV Type 2 AVI stream.

    Um... 10 hour to encode?*
    On a 1.5Ghz 1GB Ram machine.

    Is this right?
    If so, that's okay... Since I'm new at doing this... but my oh my.

    * VBR, 2 pass, audio re-encoding, ABR ~4200.

  2. The best things come to those who wait. TMPGEnc can be funny, sometimes it will encode a file for me in an hour, sometimes a lot longer. I am still a newb at it myself, but it does what it says on the tin, it is a very good proggy to use.

  3. thats about right for the speed of you machine...
    also if u have any filters enabeled it will make encoding ALOT longer

    Yeah. I think I got carried away on some of the filters. Now I only really use Normalization; but I think I'm going to do that using Vegas first; or virtualdub to extract Audio and then normalize it then and there.

    Ok. As long as this is normal, I'm totally okay with that. Just making sure nothing funny was going on.
