  1. * DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to read file “D:\”. Data error (cyclic redundancy check).* What does it mean?

    The Decrypter ripping also failed. But the CloneDVD went to the end. What’s the problem most likely with the DVD Shrink and Decrypter?

  2. Have you inspected the disc for any major scratches?

    How far into the disc does this occur?

    Do Decrypter and Shrink stop at roughly the same spot?

    @Johnnylee_hang:
    Please do a forum search next time

    An All Forums search brought up 101 results using the words "Resident Evil", of which this particular post provides links to the four different methods so far:

    @compiler:
    Generally CRC errors relate to scratches etc as freestyler pointed out. However, it is not uncommon for different ripping software or different DVD drives to react differently to the exact same disc. That's just one of the idiosyncrasies in this business I'm afraid.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    - use the latest dvdshrink and also mid to oldest dvdshrink.
    -dvd drive frameware is up-to-date
    -during dvdshrink, it display : EVD_VIDEO

    I don't own this DVD but I've been following a thread that has been discussing the "New Anti-Copy Protection" that purposely introduces errors in sectors. The way I understand it, these errors are intend to be ignored, or compenstated for, by your settop DVD player but cause ripping software to choke. However, if you go to the link that I gave you above you'll see several solutions discussed. It appears that the best one is to download the lastest version of dvd decrypter and rip the DVD to your harddrive. Again ... my understanding is the the lastest version will handle these "intentional errors / defects". Once ripped you should be able to use DVDShrink to shrink the video.

    Dude, that thread I linked to gives you four alternative ways of doing it, with links to instructions on how to do it (click the "details on how to do it here" links). Those methods have proven to work for quite a lot of people here. It might be an idea to try them
    If in doubt, Google it.
