  1. Like the topic, i have average 480 PI and 10.13 PIF with my new TDK (code TTG02).

Is that normal? Thanks a lot. I saw someone said the lower PI the better, and their results are within 10. Could anyone help me to explain please.

    Thanks a lot.

Those are indeed very high error rates. PI(E) errors should be under 280 (ECC8), and PIF should be under 4 (ECC1). How is disc playback? What burner were these burned with?

I was really astonished by the result, i am using Lite-On 812S external USB 2.0 DVD burner.

And did another disc test today, Laser, DVD-R 4X, PI(Average) 844, PIF 12

Play not very well on the DVD player OMNI SL-P200KD, lots of jerky, and pause, press fast forward will make the disc play again.

You might want to try some higher quality discs. I'd try that first before deciding the drive is faulty.

today, burned another TDK, PI average is about 100, after 1hour, the movie started to jerky again.

seems weird, same TDK, how come yester day 480 and today 100, both detected under Kprobe 1X.

Maybe the dvd player is too old? omni SL-P2002KD about 4 years.
