  1. CAn some one help wich is the best for a dvd recorder at home. (not for the puter). Wich is most common and what are the diffrences????

    Assuming your recorder will accept both formats, it really makes no difference. Particularly if you are only going to play back from the recorder. If you plan on playing it on other players, that's a different story. Beyond that, the +/- war has pretty much died down, and there's little to gain from a rekindling.

    Best type? +R or -R? Depends on what you are going to play the Discs back in.

    My IBM Thinkpad T23 and my PCs with older Hitachi GD-3000 DVD-ROM do NOT like -R, but do read -RW just fine BUT ALL my dvd players and computers read +R and +RW just fine, so I use +R.

    A friend used -R because they work better in his equipement.

    From what I've read, -RW gives "better" editing capabilites in stand alone recorders, but as I dont have a stand alone DVD recorder, I can't comment.

    As for the difference tween + and -... search, there are many topics about this.
