System Reboots after burning

I'm running a Soyo K7VEM Pro 1.2 gig Duron w/ 390 Mb RAM under Windows XP Pro. My burner is a Khypermedia 8X4X40+R. I've gotten the same results on RiData and Fuji media. When using DVD Decryptor and CloneDVD to backup a DVD the computer reboots on it's own immediatly after finishing the burn. I'm using CloneDVD to perform the burn. The DVD created will play fine but I can't figure out why this is happening. Any thoughts?

I'm stumped as to the exact cause.

My initial thought is power-related - maybe your burner "spikes" when it's finished or something ? It may well cause your power supply to fail, thus rebooting.


As a massive longshot (and unrelated to the above), right-click on My Computer and go to Properties. Click on the Advanced tab, and click the Settings button in the Startup and Recovery frame.



I'll bet that this is ticked. Untick it, then click OK, then click OK. Now try burning.

jimmalenko another problem could be that he has upgraded to sp2 and his clone dvd program is not workin right with it,has he got the latest clone dvd, cos sp2 has caused many problems for some types of software.

Thanks for the suggestions. I replaced the PS a month ago on a hunch. (350 watt) No real difference afterwards. I've installed SP1 but not 2 (heard about all the headaches) I'll change the settings for the "error restart" and see what I get.
