  1. When I rip an entire disk with MTR and extract/ compress just the main movie using Popcorn, the backups come out great.

    BUT

When I use MTR to rip JUST the main movie sometimes Popcorn tells me that the TS_folder is damaged and won't let me do anything with it. Anybody know why? Is MTR stripping something out that Popcorn needs? The TS_folder will play fine in the DVD player. Its not a big deal, it just takes a little more time ripping the whole disk, I was just wondering.

    thanks

    Is this an alternate universe?

    What are the following:

    - MTR
    - Popcorn
    - TS_folder

I have not heard of any of these things... and I'm gonna guess nobody else here has, either.

    Seriously. Anyone?

I mean, personally I always had trouble when I used Woodpecker to rip my DVD's. It was especially troublesome when I then tried to re-encode them using Vaseline 2.0, although dropping back to Vaseline 1.4 worked SOMETIMES, but not always.

I had much better luck ripping with Walrus 5.7.3.1 and then re-encoding with Ham Sandwich EX.

MTR and Popcorn are programs for the Mac. This is DVD to DVDR related, but I'm sure you'll get better answers in the MAC forum. Moving...

MTR 2.7 might fix that. Until then, keep using Full Disc mode.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

Vaseline 2.0 is outdated, try KYupthepoopshoot 1.1 then use AFIST 4.5 running UPDABUTT 6.9 and you should feel fine.

Now now Mark, once we discovered that it was just Mac software, there's no need to be outright mean.

Don't know if it's related, but I've just had a similar experience between MTR 2.6 and DVD2OneX. A full disc backup of Kiki's Delivery Service in MTR was interrupted saying that a VOB had bad sectors, giving me the choice between Deleting the VOB or Padding it. I chose to pad it, but DVD2OneX aborted after 82%, saying that the VOB and the IFO didn't match. (The disk was very scratched up, so I don't think any deliberate protection scheme was in play. Although it is a Disney release, so maybe I'm wrong.)
