  1. Ok, I just downloaded the 5045 firmware from lite-on's site and noticed the following,

    LVW-5020/64MB HYNIX HY5DU561622CT_J/4M Flash/13.5MHz Clock
    VxWorks BSP Version 1.2/12 -

    as compared to,
    LVW-5020/64MB HYNIX HY5DU561622CT_J/4M Flash/13.5MHz Clock
    VxWorks BSP Version 1.2/12 -

    iLO

Hmmm, looks like the same FW as the iLO.

I did also searched both the iLO and the 5045 firmware for "library" and found the identical code that was in the newly released iLO firmware. Me thinks the firmwares are veeeery similar.

Anyone more saavy than me willing to take the challenge or give some helpful advice on what the next step to "fixing" the 5045 fw would be?

  2. I think this has been discussed at length on other boards and forums. It seems that Lite-on has only released the UK and EU firmware versions for the 5045 and these firmwares are INCOMPATIBLE with the US version of the 5045 and more importantly the iLo HD04 model. We are all awaiting release of the US or North American version release of this firmware. I think once this is done the "knowledgable amonst us" can break it down and see if it will "talk nicely" with the iLo units. Anyone comment on this? And.....the waiting contiues.

  3. I'm not sure how much use this is but a new firmware for the DVDR04 is due out this week. It will be correcting the Macrovision problem. Tech support said it will be "lowering" the sensitivity.
Comparing original software and the update should suggest where the Macrovision changes are, possibly leading to a mv hack.

Has anyone tried it on the HD04?
