I promise, I am not advertising. Look here:
http://www.essenceoflifevideo.com/memorial/index.html
go to the demo on the left. It says it is in Flash, but I didn't know
what they might have originally made the movie in. I am capturing a
lot of video and stills right now and would like to be able to have
these effects, without having to pay $199 for 40 pictures. Thank you
for any help. No offense on the $199. I know it is worth it. I would just like to do it on my own.
I also like the multple pictures on one slide later in the little movie they use. I have tried Photodex and like it a lot, but it doesn't quite to everything I need (like the multiple pictures on one slide moving around, etc.). None of the other $100 or less ones appear to do this either. I am not afraid of any learning curve, but would like to be able to do these effects with, say, a month of learning.
Thanks again.

That is very basic,Why dont you try www.Ulead.com they have good slide show software.

I tried this, but found it very limiting. I also noticed in the website's movie that the background was moving as well as the pictures. Any more ideas on what program was used to make this video? Thanks to anyone.

Have you checked out photodex proshow gold or memories on tv?? They both work well, I like proshow myself...

Well if i was going to do this, I would Use Adobe After effects , Sony vegas , or some other Video Editor, But as for Slide show software to do that I'm really not sure,I just heard the Ulead one was good.

I don't know if it does the moving background and / or the overlaid pictures, but Slideshow Movie Maker is another that's regularly recommended.
If you find anything that's suitable, please post back.
Of course, you could always try video editing software. Here's some that sound promising:
Picked from here (Advanced Video Editors in the "Tools" section, sorted by cheapest first)...
1. Wax 2 - Sounds good. Freeware.
2. Zwei-stein - Sounds interesting. Freeware.
3. AviTricks - Sounds good. Freeware.
4. Video Edit Magic - Sounds like it might suit. US$70
5. Adobe Premiere Elements - Could be good starting point if you want to go on to the full monty Adobe Premiere (or similar) at a later date. US$100
6. Ulead Videostudio - A friend uses it. Might suit you. US$100
There's a few for starters...There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
Carpe diem.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room. -

I do not believe you could create those or similar effects with any standard slideshow software. Technically, that is not a slideshow.
Ulead Video Studio won't do it, either, but Ulead Media Studio Pro will. It's a bit more pricey, maybe use an older version, output to AVI and encode with something else.
