  1. i tried opening a mp4 file in the TMPGEnc and i got this error. Can not open, or not supported. what does that mean?

    is there another program to convert mp4 into mpeg2?

    You might need to try one of the following:

    Raise the directshow priority in TMPGENC
    Install the Quicktime Filter for TMPGENC
    Open the file in Virtualdub, then frameserve into TMPGENC

    VDub doesn't support mp4 and dshow should be used even with the default settings, provided you have dshow filters installed to handle mp4's.

    Quicktime's mp4 support is somewhat limited, I would suggest installing an mp4 splitter, aac decoder, etc. The file should then load via dshow.

    What are you using to play the mp4?
