In the last few days I've noticed Hotmail loading up like a snail. Has anyone else noticed this? I don't know if it's just me or my imagination but it's slow when opening up and deleting emails.

And I thought I was the only one using it. I use it when I was looking for an alterntaive
email service to use so that when asked, "what's you email?" I could give them that one
and not my personal one. I get that a lot these days. Sometimes from friends and other times
from business and other entities. I do this so I can keep the spam count down (you know
how those things work.. they get a hold of your friends/bus (throuth trolling the suspected
weak line) and cyphen the email address, bla bla bla) anyway.

No budz, I can't say that I have. Actually, and prob because of these things..

    A) -- I'm still on dial-up, and
    B) -- I seldom use it. Its mostly to communicate with the other half of my GREEK family,
my system and also my very ill brother, both down in Florida. Though my sister is a little
ill but needs comforting words or two from her younger brother her in NY, me

On my dial-up its (or any) email is slow. What I hate most is that I have to first wait for the
main page to load (all the ads, news, and pictures) and then once I can finally see the email
button, I press it to get to the email section. Its always slow going in. But, it does serve its
    purpose.

    Forget Hotmail.

    mail.yahoo.co.jp is all that matters.

I've had hotmail for years and only use for certain stuff. I use my server email only for Ebay stuff. I don't like the interface for Yahoo and Gmail although I use Gmail for friends/family only. It's to prevent spamming that I have more than one email acct. Thanks for responding Midzuki and Vhelp!

Hotmail is still lagging....I wonder if I do the upgrade thingy it may be faster....It wouldn't suprise me if MS intentionally is making it load so slow.

When I first heard of hotmail I thought (could have sworn) that it was porn related. All I saw
(in my mind) was hot babes and T's and A's and so on and so forth. What I can't figure out
is how I got that impression to begin with.. was it the "HOT" part ? I don't know

Oh well, if I'd'a known it wasn't, I guess I would have joined much sooner. I only join late last
year or so. I don't know. But, I can't complain because (unlike budz) I don't see any
slow up on my end I'm still on dial-up, hehe..

I've had hotmail from the beginning, and I've had some experiences like vhelp. Some people wouldn't email me because they thought that the address was hotmale.com they thought that I was affiliated with a gay porn site.

I've found it to be rather fast, even with the whole "live" treatment.

I don't use torrents much (linux distros, ftw), but I've heard that it can slow down your speed, though I haven't experienced it myself, even while pulling isos.

I agree with this thread's author. I too find Hotmail slow.

I chose a Hotmail address simply because of its assumed stability, being an MSN product and all. I felt I could keep an address for years this way without having to change it. This appealed to me.

Unfortunately that's the problem. I don't like it anymore and want to change. It's the service, not the address (depsite the jokes...). Not only is it slow, but I don't like its features as much as those of other providers.

But after over 10 years with this constant email address, I'd hate to give it up, contacts and all. The longer I keep it, the more difficult it is to get rid of it. I don't mind keeping the address if I could use another provider with it - if that's possible.

Stuck with it and hoping it gets better...

Are you guys using the Classic interface or the NEW Hotmail interface. I've noticed the new interface is somewhat of a resource hog.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

Here too. I'm with Classic for that very reason, which is slow enough already - the newer one would be even slower.
