  1. I am about to author a DVD using Adobe Premiere on a machine that does not have a DVD burner. I will later burn it on a computer that has a burner. As far as I can tell Premiere does not provide the option of making a DVD image to the hard drive. So, I was wondering if there was a utility similar to D-Tools that could trick the program into "burning" a DVD image to the hard drive.

    A word to the wise.

You do not burn a dvd to a hard drive.

Burning requires melting the dye off of an optical disc.

Hard drives are magnetic, so you make no sense whatsoever.

If you want to make a dvd image, use imgtool classic to make your image file.

You can then mount that image using daemon tools or Nero Virtual Drive

Premiere does not author DVDs anyway.
Unless it's that weak Elements version.

Yes, Premiere and DVD did not compute for me either.
What version is freak99 referring to?

  6. Oops, I would be using Sonic DVD Producer to "burn" the disc. But I need a program that tricks DVD Producer into thinking there is a DVD burner on my machine, and thus makes a DVD image on my HD.

    I repeat.

To make an image use imgtool classic.

Click on the link I provided.

You do not have to trick the computer at all.

Where on earth did you get that?

Just about any burning app will either burn the DVD image or the separate files themselves to a HD folder of your choice.

Nero can be set up by choosing "Image Recorder" in the "Choose Recorder" section. Other apps allow the same. DVD Movie Factory allows folder or image burns in addition to actual disc burns, as choices of what you want to burn.

If DVD Producer doesn't allow burning a DVD image or files to HD, I suggest upgrading to an authoring app that does allow it. That's a basic option that all apps ought to have
